About my work

I am a minimalist artist, centring my work around the abstraction of organic shapes found within nature, working primarily with paper, using different methods and tools to create new outcomes from the same material. I work around the concepts of the in-between, hygge, and studying the transient qualities of my work, the immaterial, which exists beyond, behind, and around. Natural forms and sources have inspired my practice, including water and plants, as well as artists such as Sachiko Abe, Yayoi Kusama, and Felix Gonzalez-Torres. My main inspiration, however, is the materials set out before me, using chance and experimentation to develop my practice with no boundaries or goals set.

About Me

I create spaces of repose and tranquility through the use of transient qualities and minimal materials. Inspired by traditional Japanese interior aesthetics, I pair the natural materials of paper and wood with intangible elements of time and light to create a harmonious collection of artworks. My work centres around labour intensive methods, spending time with the materials to create precise, refined works which audiences can calmly spend time with and walk around.

I am currently a third year student, studying at the University of Derby. My work has developed over the years, showcasing these outcomes within shows I have been part of during my time in Derby
